How do I schedule 1 to 1 academic support?
One to one academic support is available to help you develop your academic and study skills from the Academic skills team.
Assistance is also available to help you develop the digital skills you might need during your course from the Digital skills team.

Asking for assistance
If you think you need more intensive support, it is best to make an appointment to ensure the appropriate staff are available to assist you.

What academic support is available?
Academic assistance for students, including support for culturally and linguistically diverse students, is available to all students at Wodonga TAFE.
There are many reasons why you may need help with your studies. For example, you may:
- be returning to study many years after you last studied
- have difficulties with written text because English is an additional language for you
- have difficulties with reading and writing due to a learning disorder such as dyslexia
- not have prior experience in formal report or essay writing
- be required to master learning in areas where you have previously had difficulty, for example, studying maths as part of an engineering course.
Academic assistance is provided in a range of ways to students, after consultation with Wodonga TAFE's Academic Skills Coordinator. Assistance may include:
- one-on-one tutoring
- participation in a group tutoring session
- one-on-one support with assignment writing, through proofreading and feedback
- participation in study skills sessions that are offered periodically by Wodonga TAFE, such as: how to plan and write essays, how to write reports, maths for beginners, or advanced maths for engineering
- time management skills
- computer skills
- exam preparation
What digital skills support is available?
Our focus is to build the digital literacy & capability of Wodonga TAFE staff and students.
We offer workshops, small group and individual digital skills training sessions to support with the development of digital skills and digital literacy.
We assist students with the following:
- Setting up Microsoft 365 accounts
- Accessing the OneDrive App and setting up student OneDrive account on personnel devices
- Accessing and Navigating Moodle, downloading and uploading assessments
- File Management
- Microsoft Apps training
- Setting up a new device for learning
- Shortcuts and tips
- Accessing important links and resources
The Digital Skills team have created a unit on Moodle for all Wodonga TAFE students to access upon enrolment. Look for the unit called Digital Literacy Skills in Wodonga TAFE Online (Moodle)
This unit provides students with important information on access, digital resources, tools and tips to support learning, safety and security information and training and support details.
Where are the Academic Skills & Digital Skills teams located?
The Academic Skills and Digital Skills team are located in the David Mann Library (Room 1120) while the refurbishment of Building A takes place.
The Library is located on the La Trobe University campus next door to Wodonga TAFE. See the link below to the Wodonga TAFE map. The library is building O on the TAFE map, but is signposted as building AW1 on the LTU campus.
Ask the library staff at the service desk to direct you.
