Q. How do I access a Standard?
You need to access a Standard such as Australian standards (AS or AS/NZS) or International standards (ISO).
Answer
From the beginning of 2021 all standards will be accessed from the new Techstreet database. The Techstreet database includes selected Australian and ISO standards relevant to teaching and learning at Wodonga TAFE, including those referenced in the Building Code of Australia (BCA).
For more information and to access Techstreet, see the link below to the Library homepage: Find Standards.
Setting up access to Techstreet
First time users will need to complete the following steps BEFORE accessing the Techstreet database.
- Install Adobe Acrobat Reader (you may already have this installed)
- Install FileOpen plugin (this has been installed on the computers in the LIRNspace and the Library)
- Create an account to access Techstreet.
You must use your @wodongatafe.edu.au email address to create an account.
Creating an account requires entering a Corporate key. You can contact the library for the corporate key, or this information may be available from your teacher. Your teacher can also arrange the creation of accounts for the whole class by sending a class list to the library.
To install the necessary apps and to create an account, see the link below to Setting up access to Techstreet for the first time.
The Techstreet database enables you to search all standards, but only a select list of standards relevant to Wodonga TAFE courses are able to be viewed in full text. These will be indicated by the Download button.
Teachers are able to request a standards that are not currently part of the Techstreet subscription if it is relevant to teaching and learning. Requests from students will be referred to their teacher.
